May 30, 2003 David Hayden has joined Seaspan Ship Management Ltd., as Fleet Operations Manager. His primary responsibility is to manage the daily operations of the vessels. He will oversee all aspects of technical and operational management such as purchasing, certification and personnel performance. The Technical Superintendents and Purchaser now report directly to David. Previously, David held a shore position in the international marine repair industry, prior to which he was Fleet Manager for Liner container vessels in Safmarine (now part of Maersk). He will compliment the current skills at SSML with a good degree of experience in vessel operation, newbuild technology and ship management process. David embarked on his new career as a participant on the first SSML Senior Officer's Forum, Maritime Safety Code Introductory course and Internal Auditors course, recently held at our offices, in Vancouver.
