Montana Resources, LLP ("MR") is pleased to announce that Rolin P. Erickson has been named its President effective January 1, 2005.

Rolin joined MR in October of 2004 as Senior Vice President and has been actively involved in the operations and the negotiation of the 2005 copper and molybdenum concentrate contracts.

Rolin replaces Frank Gardner who stepped down as president at year-end and who will now chair the Management Committee for Montana Resources. Mr. Erickson said: "I am really excited to have been extended this opportunity. In the short time that I have been associated with the company I have come to appreciate the experience and exceptional dedication of the people here. I am looking forward to working with this fine group and am confident that we will be able to rise to any of the challenges so often found in this competitive industry".

As President of Montana Resources, Rolin will have responsibility for the production and sale of 75 to 95 million pounds of copper and 6 to 10 million pounds of molybdenum annually. In addition to the mine and concentrator, Rolin will be responsible to oversee the safety, financial, legal, environmental and human resources of the operation and direct community and government relations.

"I am pleased that Rolin has chosen to join us", said Frank Gardner. "Rolin brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to the operation and I am sure he will continue MR's philosophy of being a low cost producer of copper and molybdenum while at the same time being able to recognize the importance of our good relationship with the community and the state of Montana".
